Join Pyramid Art, Books & Custom Framing in welcoming New York Times Best Selling author E. Lynn Harris Tuesday, August 5, 2008
5:30 PM E. Lynn Harris was born in Flint, Michigan and raised, along with three sisters, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he was the school’s first black yearbook editor, the first black male Razorbacks cheerleader, and the president of his fraternity. He graduated with honors with a degree in journalism. Harris sold computers for IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and AT&T for thirteen years while living in Dallas, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. He finally quit his sales job to write his first novel, Invisible Life, and, failing to find a publisher, he published it himself in 1991 and sold it mostly at black-owned bookstores, beauty salons, and book clubs before he was “discovered” by Anchor Books. Anchor published Invisible Life as a trade paperback in 1994, and thus his career as an author officially began. Invisible Life was followed by Just As I Am (1994), And This Too Shall Pass (1996), If This World Were Mine (1997), Abide with Me (1999), Not A Day Goes By (2000), Any Way the Wind Blows (2001), A Love of My Own (2002) and I Say A Little Prayer (2006), all published by Doubleday. All nine of Harris’s novels have hit the New York Times bestseller list, and they have also appeared on the bestseller lists of the Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times. In 2003, Harris published his first work of nonfiction, a memoir entitled What Becomes of the Brokenhearted, which was also a New York Times bestseller. Today, there are more than four million copies of his books in print, and his latest (and tenth novel), Just Too Good To Be True, will be released in July 2008. He divides his time between Atlanta, Georgia, and Fayetteville, Arkansas. |

In Unity, there’s Strength, Thank You!
January 5, 2008
| Pyramid Art, Books, and Custom Framing/Hearne Fine Art was excited to host Kwanzaa 2007-08 onsite December 26, 2007-January 1, 2008! Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrated by millions throughout the world African community. Based on seven principles, the celrbration is an ancient and living cultural tradition which reflects the best of African thought and practice in its reaffirmation of the dignity of the human person in community and culture, the well-being of family and community, the integrity of the environment and our kinship with it, and the rich resource and meaning of a people’s culture. This year we continued to keep this rich tradition alive while honoring the memory of Mr. Curtis Tate, community leader, storyteller, and Kwanzaa enthusiast. |

A Celebration To Remember!
The creativity continued to flow on Monday, December 31 as we observed the sixth principle of Kwanzaa, Kuumba (Creativity). Poet, musician, and arts enthusiast, joshua., |
On this festive occasion, the staff of Pyramid presented Ms. Myrtis Randolph (pictured below at left)with a Kwanzaa set for her dedication and enthusiasm for the holiday’s observation. ![]() During the holiday, we also asked attendees to bring new and slightly used children books for WATCh (What About The Children), an organization dedicated to the empowerment of youth in our community. We collected close to 100 wonderful books!!! ![]()
Thank you all for your continued support!
